Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to visit the dentist?

It is recommended to visit the dentist for regular hygiene visits twice a year. Depending on the health of your gums and teeth, you may need to visit your dentist more often than that as there is no one-size-fits-all dental treatment.

When is a good time to start bringing your children to the dentist?

It is a good idea to bring your child in to visit the dentist within 6 months of their first tooth appearing in their mouth. The goal of the first appointment is to have your child be comfortable with being in the dental chair, examine their mouth and to go over questions and concerns that parents may have regarding their child's oral health.

What areas of Winnipeg do your dental patients come from?

We work with patients from all across Winnipeg and surrounding areas including Bridgewater, Bridgewater Lakes, Bridgewater Trails, South Pointe West, Waverley Heights, Waverly West, Fort Richmond, Linden Ridge, Whyte Ridge, St.Norbert, Richmond West, Fort Gary, Charleswood, St.Vital and many other locations.

Do you accept dental insurance?

Yes. We can process your treatment through your dental insurance provided you give us your insurance breakdown. (yearly maximum, basic and major coverage)

What are the best toothbrushes and toothpastes to use?

It is always better to use a soft toothbrush then one with medium or hard bristles. If you have trouble with your hands or manual dexterity then a power toothbrush may be better for you. Most toothpastes do a good job at removing plaque and bacteria from your mouth. It is recommended to use toothpaste that has the CDA seal of approval and one that contains fluoride, as it is known to help strengthen and protect your teeth. If you suffer from hot or cold sensitivity, then you may want to talk to your dentist about recommending toothpaste that has specific ingredients to help with sensitivity.

How safe are X-rays?

Digital dental X-rays deliver very little radiation and are a vital tool for your dentist to ensure that small problems in your mouth do not become bigger issues. The frequency of needing x-rays depends on your oral health. For example a healthy adult with good oral hygiene and no cavities may not need as frequent X-rays as someone whose oral health is not as stable.

Can I have a one-visit root canal?

Yes, the majority of root canals we do only involve 1 single visit.

Do you do wisdom tooth extractions?
